A two-day tour to enjoy the beauty of Lake Atitlan and also to visit and enjoy one of the largest and most picturesque markets in Central America in the town of Chichicastenango. The departure from Antigua is at 7.00 a.m. and can be on Wednesday or Saturday. After two hours of travel, you will arrive at the lake’s crest basin in the city of Panajachel.

DAY 1: Visit to the Towns of San Juan and Santiago by Lake Atitlán
Immediately upon arrival, check-in at the hotel, where the guide will pick up the group and transfer by boat-taxi to the villages of San Juan and Santiago, enjoying the breathtaking views of the lake. In San Juan you will be able to appreciate the variety and quality of the traditional weavings and in Santiago you will visit the altar to Maximon, the syncretic deity of Guatemala. Also visit the Catholic Church of Santiago whose structure dates back to 1571 in whose atrium you can see a cross of the colonial era made of stone. During the tour in these towns, you can have lunch at the time that suits you best.
During the rest of the afternoon, you will be free to explore the city of Panajachel and enjoy all the beauties that the city has to offer.

DAY 2: Visit to the Chichicastenango Market
On the second day, after breakfast, you will leave Panajachel to visit one of the most picturesque markets in the region, the Chichicastenango Market which is located on Thursdays and Sundays in the central square of the town and where the indigenous Mayans from different villages offer a variety of handicrafts, colorful textiles, local vegetables and fruits and a great variety of masks with animal motifs that represent a nice souvenir of the place. Free time between one and two hours to walk and admire all that the market has to offer and after that time we will return to the city of Antigua where we will arrive in approximately 2 and a half hours.
