Guatemala City is the current capital of Guatemala, after Antigua Guatemala was destroyed by an earthquake in 1773. It has a population of close to 3 million people and is the largest and most modern city in Guatemala. There is much to see in the city, some of the highlights include visiting sites such as Avenida Las Americas, Avenida La Reforma, a visit to the Civic Center, a tour of the Historic Center to see the Palace of the Interior.
