El Zonte is known as one of the most famous beaches in Central America for surfing since it provides the perfect surf for beginners, pros, and everyone in between. Here you can meet travelers from all over the world, learn to surf, or perfect your technique and soak in the Salvadorian sun with cold drinks and delicious meals. Quality transportation, safe accommodation, and bilingual surf instructors make your vacation even more enjoyable.

This tour leaves from Maximo Nivel at 7:30am to begin a five-hour drive towards the Pacific coast of El Salvador, with beautiful views of the ocean during the last leg of the trip. You can spend the rest of the afternoon poolside, lounge in a hammock, or swimming in the ocean waves. If you like, grab a surfboard from the hotel and hit one of the three local breaks. Next day, begin your day whenever you like, just make sure to hit the water. On your last day at El Zonte, depending on the tide, you will have one or two more chances to surf before heading home. After lunch, you will leave for Antigua Guatemala at 2:30pm.

Surf Information

Whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned surfer, you can find the right break for you near El Zonte. Lessons are customized depending on your ability and your bilingual instructor will teach at your pace.

Beginners: We will provide you with everything you need: surfboard, leash, rash guard, etc.

Intermediate: We will provide you with the proper board and determine if you need an instructor to help you improve your technique in the water. Depending on the tides, you can have a two-hour session.

Advanced: We will provide you with the board as well as information about the swell, tides, and break points. You can surf in El Zonte and El Sunzal. The waves in El Zonte come from the right and break at the tip and El Sunzal is a classic right point break with long lines.
